THE AMERICAN COLLEGE IN SPAIN, CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE IN AMERICAN EDUCATION

This year, The American College in Spain celebrates its 10th anniversary since opening its doors in Marbella in February 2013. The American College in Spain is part of the educational project founded by Dr. James Butler in 1972. Dr. Butler’s vision was to provide an American education that was affordable and accessible to all. The first project was Columbus International College, which started in Seville in 1972, followed by The American College of Dubai (1989), and The American College in Spain (February 2013).

Initially, ACS concentrated in the university program. The individualized attention and schedule flexibility made it attractive for many American athletes, especially soccer players, to study with us as they were able to combine their sports commitments with their academic obligations. In September 2016, the high school program was added to our educational offer. Once again, our program was mainly catered to student-athletes who needed flexibility and customized education to be able to combine sports with studies. Our high school program was received with enormous acceptance.

In recent years, the program has opened to all students who are interested in obtaining an American high school diploma whilst learning in a small environment and receiving personalized attention. We focus on each student individually and provide different learning options according to every need.

Our programs are an excellent option for students who are seeking:

  • Individualized attention.

  • Credit Acceleration – graduate sooner by taking more classes.

  • Positive School Environment – academic environment, overcoming a social challenge.

  • Flexibility- Perfect for athletes who need a flexible schedule for training sessions.

  • Online option.

There have already been more than 500 students who have finished and obtained their high school diploma through us. Over 300 of those students have earned their AA degree through our university program, and 80% have transferred to other American universities with scholarships and have successfully completed their degrees.

A high school diploma and a degree from an American Institution is a great way to gain access into the workplace worldwide. This is a fully accredited American Education, for middle school, high school, and university.
